Fabulous on a January afternoon, bracing. Breakers on yellow sand, occasional walkers dotted along the length of the strand. Cold, yet springlike in the early days of the new year.
I love Portrush! So this may be slightly biased. Beautiful beach, I do prefer entering the white rocks side however. Soft sand and good waves at times. It is always rather busy, I love the promenade around and walking onto the beach viewing the surf school. One of my favourite places to be. The only downfall again is the people but maybe that's because they all agree its beautiful!
Beautiful beach. Always love this walk. Pity the rest of the dog walkers don't feel the need to clear up after their pets.
Beautiful area especially when the sun's shinning. You can walk from this beach right along to the white rocks, used to do this many a time as a child with my granny when we came to Portrush to stay and then you have the sand dunes to explore as well.The East Strand is transformed during the airshow, in the area just above the beach you have all the various sights to see as in different battalions from the army be there.
A great place for a nice walk, beautiful scenery. Great place for a few photos of the North Coast. Also for dog owners a good place to take the dog for a walk well maintained with little to no rubbish in sight
